Issue:

Notes 11, Notes 12, and Notes 14 will randomly hang or crash on MS Windows 11.

Error 1 in NSD:
...
... InProcessClient64+ ...
... InProcessClient64+ ...
...
... nnotesws.NEMainLoop ...
...
... NLNOTES ....
...

Error 2 Dialog:
- Dialog pop up after Notes hangs (and typically disappears):
Cannot complete the operation, Notes is running but not responding. Please close and restart Notes.

InProcessClient64.dll and Cryptic Dialog Resolution:

InProcessClient64.dll Hangs:
- For hangs/crashes with InProcessClient64.dll, the cause is most likely the ol'antivirus culprit again. (e.g. Defender, CrowdStrike, SentinalOne, etc.)

Dialog:
For the hang/crash (non start, start hang after the logo screen), the issue is likely Defender or CrowdStrike versions before 7.23.19508. In the case of CrowdStrike, upgrade your CrowdStrike client.

To exclude the Notes processes, our Defender example from our old Win 10 hang support document comes back again:
1. Window Menu (open field) --> type Virus --> pick Virus & threat protection
On the next window, under Virus & thread protection settings, under No action needed, (ironic, isn't it), choose Manage settings.
On the next window, under Exclusions, click the + (plus) symbol to Add an exclusion.

2. Repeat the plus symbol for each of the following exclusions.
Add an exclusion --> Process (exclusion type) --> nlnotes.exe
Add an exclusion --> Process --> notes2.exe
Add an exclusion --> Process --> notes.exe
Add an exclusion --> Process --> ntaskldr.exe
Add an exclusion --> Process --> nsd.exe
Add an exclusion --> Process --> admin.exe
Add an exclusion --> Process --> designer.exe

Add an exclusion --> File Type (exclusion type) --> nsf
Add an exclusion --> File Type --> ntf
Add an exclusion --> File Type --> ndk

Cryptic Dialog Resolution & Compatibility Mode:

We've tried to run HCL Notes in "compatibility mode" (32bit clients). Some have told us it helped, we haven't seen that ourselves. But when your crashing, it is something to also try.
See KB0120593 on HCL support site.
