To add a picture/image to page, when the image is outside your web site...
Option A - Local
1. Copy it via draging between folders or using Windows Explorer to the appropriate images folder within your site.
2. Back in Dreamweaver, open the Files tab to display your site's files. Press the F5 key or click the refresh icon. Confirm you have the new image where you expected it to be.
3. In the HTML file to contain the image, position your curser/mouse where the image is to be place.
4. From the menu bar, select Insert --> Image to bring up the image dialog box.
5. Locate and highlight the image. Click OK to place the image.
6. Save the open HTML page that now contains the image.
Option B - Remotely via FTP
1. Open the HTML page in the editor that will contain the image.
2. Put your cursor/mouse where the image will be placed.
3. From the menu bar, select Insert --> Image to bring up the image dialog box.
4. Locate and highlight the image by browsing under "My Computer". Click OK. At the next prompt, answer Yes, to copy the new image to your web site. The image will be placed in the page once the copy is complete.
5. Save the open HTML page that now contains the image.
Option C - Drag and Drop from Folder into Site
1. Open on your local computer the folder containing the image to be imported.
2. Back in Dreamweaver, open the Files tab to display your site's files.
3. Position/resize Dreamweaver's window with the Files/Sites content and the folder window (from step 1) so that both can be seen.
4. Drag the image from the folder on the appropriate folder within your Site in Dreamweaver.
