SMC Reset
Shift + Option + Control + Power
Hold for 10 seconds and release same time. Power up normally.


Recovery Boot Utilities:
Command + R
Let go when you see logo.

You can also recover over the Internet:
Option + Command + R
or
Shift + Command + R


Verbose Mode Boot
Command + V
Let go when you see logo.


Safe Mode:
Shift at Boot
Let go when you see login.


Launch Startup Manager to Choose Start-up Disks:
Option
Let go when you see login.
If you have a boot (firmware) password, enter the password when prompted.


Reset the NVRAM or PRAM:
Option + Command + P + R
Let go when you see login.
If you have a boot (firmware) password, this key combination is ignored.


Start-up with the Apple Hardware Test or Apple Diagnostics utility:
D

You can also run over the Internet:
Option + D


Start-up with Network NetBoot Volume:
N
If the network has a NetBoot profile and your Mac is set-up to load from a network-based volume, the Mac can be started from NetBoot.

You can also run over the Internet:
Option + N


Start-up in Target-Disk-Mode:
T


Start-up in Single-User Mode:
Command + S
(High Sierra or earlier only)
