Issue:
Current VCSA is vSphere 7.0.0.10300.
Using the VAM (VMware Appliance Manager) Update page (e.g. myvcsa.mindwatering.net:5480).
Stage and Install of VCSA 7.0.16189094 files with error:
No such file or directory: '/storage/core/software-update/updates/index'
Rebooting the VCSA, and then trying the update again gives the error:
Update installation failed, vCenter Server is non-operational
Workaround:
Log into the VCSA via SSH.
$ ssh root@myvcsa.mydomain.net
<enter passord>
Enable shell, with
Command> shell
Delete the file:
root@myvcsa [ ~ ]# rm /etc/applmgmt/appliance/software_update_state.conf
Exit:
root@myvcsa [ ~ ]# exit
Command> exit
